Grand Lodge Leadership Conference
You are cordially invited; nay……you are strongly encouraged to attend any one of the three Leadership Conferences we have scheduled for next January.  This year, our MW Grand Master Michael T. Bishop invites the officers and members of ALL Masonic bodies to join with us for this training opportunity. “ALL” means all of our brothers, sisters, sons and daughters of the Blue Lodges, York Rite, Scottish Rite, Shrine, Grotto, Eastern Star, Amaranth, Beauceant, True Kindred, White Shrine, DeMolay, Rainbow Girls and Job’s Daughters……..all of whom are members of our Masonic Family!
Three sessions have been set to better accommodate your busy schedules and to be nearer to you.  Mark these dates and locations on your calendars:

Saturday January 9, 2010     Tucson Scottish Rite Temple
Saturday January 16, 2010   El Zaribah Shrine, Phoenix
               Saturday January 30, 2010   Flagstaff Lodge #7

Registration will begin with coffee and donuts at 7:30 AM for each date.  The sessions will begin at 9 AM and are planned to end by 4 PM.  Lunch will be served to all registrants.  You will have your choice of which classes you wish to attend.  There will be 4 one hour classes; followed by a 90 minute facilitated discussion meant to allow you to tell us what you feel is most important to the betterment of our fraternity.

PLEASE DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN
from many of our most accomplished instructors and to SHARE YOUR OWN IDEAS FOR THE BETTERMENT OF OUR MASONIC FAMILY IN ARIZONA.  The classes will be divided into four levels or groups, meant to better fit your position in your Masonic Family Organization:

Group A
Designed to appeal to the needs of those who have recently joined and/or have just been appointed to any office.

Group B
These courses will be more applicable to those who are more senior officers of their respective bodies or will soon preside, or now preside.

Group C
These courses are for those who are more interested in the esoteric facets and higher ideals of Freemasonry, those of you who want to “expand your experience.”

Sec/Trea
Will meet separately with the Grand Secretary and Grand Treasurer to discuss those issues pertaining to their respective office.

Successful Fund Raiser at Sweet Tomatoes
On Wednesday July 1st Aaron Lodge held a fund raising dinner at Sweet Tomatoes at 4420 N. Stone. Most members and guests arrived around 6 PM. Sweet Tomatoes donated 15% of all the dinner proceeds generated by Aaron Lodge members and guests.

There were 30 or more that participated in this fund raising event which will count for a nice donation from Sweet Tomatoes. What more could anyone ask for? We were surrounded by good food, good friends and we all had a great time.

Aaron Lodge will be doing this again on August 5th at Applebee's. Just read the article "Fund Raiser Dinner at Applebee's" above.

Aaron Lodge would like to extend our fondest gratitude to Sweet Tomatoes for hosting this fun filled and profitable event.

Time to Start Fund Raising
Masonic Yard Sale
Masonic Yard Sale
The summer season is here and we will be dark (aside from social gatherings) July and August. Now is a time to start looking more closely at Fund Raising Events. The more we fund raise the more we are able to do and provide as a Lodge. Support of the Lodge and our charitable works should be a high priority for all of our Brothers.

It does not take much and every penny raised is a penny closer to our goals. The last two Masonic Yard Sales Sponsored by the Brother to Brother Committee raised $950 towards charitable works supported by Aaron Lodge. We had a great time putting on the Masonic Yard Sales and while we were having fun we raised money for the Lodge.

You don't have to go as far as hosting a yard sale your contribution to the cause could be as simple as saving aluminum cans at your home with the proceeds going to the Lodge. Your contribution could be as easy as donating that junk your wife wants to to get rid of anyway to the Brother to Brother Committee for the next Masonic Yard Sale. Set up a jar in your home that you can drop change from your pockets into from time to time, then when the jar is full bring it into the Lodge. You may feel that "What difference is a couple bucks in change mean to the Lodge?" Well if just 20% of the lodge membership did this by contributing a jar of pocket change to the Lodge once or twice a year that could mean over $1000 in added revenue to support the Lodge.

We need to institute our 50/50 raffles at the Stated Meetings again. Brown Bag Auctions are lots of fun at Stated Meeting. Just these two things could easily generate significant funding to the Lodge in a years period.

Fund raising potential is limitless. We don't have to always think big, remember UNICEF received a great deal of their funding for years by kids Trick or Treating for spare change. I know most of us has junk that could go to a yard sale, we all have a little bit of spare change that could go into a jar, we all drink sodas or beer from aluminum cans: when you put all those things together it really adds up.

These are just a few ideas, bring your ideas to the Lodge to share. The only stupid idea is the one that is not expressed. So let's all get on board and help support the Lodge (no matter how small) that is dear to all of our hearts.

Aaron Lodge New Post - Officer & Ritual Coach
Stan Brown P.M. New Officer and Ritual Coach.
Stan Brown P.M. New Officer and Ritual Coach.
Aaron Lodge has created a new post, the Officer and Ritual Coach. This post is aimed helping to maintain consistent excellence with our Masonic Ritual and to aid officers that would like some extra mentoring for themselves. The Officers of Aaron Lodge appointed Brother Stan Brown P.M. (Aaron 1972) to this post. Brother Stan has been a long time member of Aaron since 1966. He is a 39 year veteran of the Air Force and Arizona Air National Guard. His last years in the service were spent as a recruiter and he has a high degree of knowledge and training in spotting hidden talents in people and knows how to develop those talents.

Brother Stan believes that we all have the potential to succeed at anything we desire providing that we are willing to work for it. He has demonstrated that with his own life and he expects no more from anyone than what he would expect from himself. A quote from Gandhi best sums up Brother Stan's view on life: "My life is my example..."

The post of Officer and Ritual Coach is one that will add a consistent tone to our practices. Brother Stan will oversee Ritual practice and will apply his vast knowledge to develop a even keel that we will all be comfortable with on our path to see that all candidates receives the best from us all. Brother Stan will also coach all officers in their positions so that they may feel completely comfortable in their tasks. Along with coaching Brother Stan will also be available for mentoring any and all who may desire to take on or learn more ie. lectures or charges.

Brother Stan congratulations and thank you for addressing this post we know you may be tough but we know that is because you care so much about Masonry and Aaron Lodge.

April 2009 Trustee's Meeting Minutes
On April 22nd,  2009 the Trustees of Aaron Lodge #49 F&AM met. Present were: Roy Otterholt, WM; Brian Johnson, PM (Secretary for the Trustees); Brent Banwell, PM; John George, PM.

The first order of business was to fill the Trustee vacancy of Brian Johnson, PM who as Treasurer for Aaron Lodge assumes the position of Secretary for the Trustees. The Trustees voted unanimously to appoint Stan Brown, PM to fill the vacancy until the Stated Meeting for December when that position will be voted on by the Brethren of Aaron Lodge.

The second order of business was to resolve an issue whereby moneys donated specifically for charitable or educational purposes were not co-mingled with operational funds so that the donor could claim the donation on his/her income tax return. It was decided by the Trustees to open a sub account with TOPCU to separate these funds.

The last order of business was to decide how a portion of Aaron Lodge’s operational funds that were not deemed immediately necessary to cover expenses could be reinvested. It was decided by the Trustees to place $1,250 in a six month CD.
